Last evening, ESPN2 featured back-to-back CFL games (BC at Montreal followed by Saskatchewan at Calgary). There are more than a few aspects of the Canadian game that as an American I find fascinating: e.g., multiple men in motion, the bigger field, the provision to score a single point, etc. Often, I've thought that there ought to be a single North American game with provisions like:
Have at it and propose how we might get there, complete with pro football today featuring (let's say) the Toronto Argonauts playing the Philadelphia Eagles.
- a still-bigger field (120 yds goal-to-goal x 60 yards wide; 20 yard end zones)
- same scoring system as Canada
- 6 downs to get 20 yards
- multiple men in motion OK as is movement toward the line of scrimmage
- 12 to a side
- Goal posts 10 yds behind the goal line
