Not exactly alternate history but I just wanted to ask (I find it... sickening?) where there really Hitler Youth academies like the one in the film? It's almost... unreal. Like something out of a dystopian thriller novel.

Respect our German bread?

Anyone remember that line?

No expert on World War II and Nazi Germany, but it always seemed to me the Hitler Youth weren't schools and thus couldn't be academies. From what I understood, they were more like children "military camps" to endoctrinate the youth to follow the Nazis until their death.

After that, I never saw the film you mention and, as I already said, I'm no expert on WWII.
