With a POD after the Qin, what's the earliest you could get a Republican regime governing a unified China?

Uhm, considering that that might well be seen as OTL, I'm not quite certain that that necessarily is the earliest a Republican regime governing a unified China can be achieved, at least for a given value of unified...
 
Are we talking a Republican-esque government (meaning the idea was Chinese to begin with) or a Republican government by Western standards (meaning the Chinese learned about the Western idea and then adopted it)?
 
If we accept the same theories that lead to the rise of bourgeois republican ideals in Europe, than the only thing stopping the same from taking place under the Song dynasty was the Mongol conquest.
