Prologue

The lands of the Orient have always been the world's most "Prestigious" lands. Many looked up to the wests. From the age of the Roman Empire, to the point where China became a major force that managed to impede the imperialistic ambitions of the European forces. Clearly, China, and eventually Japan, became a goliath of their own, regarding these very businesses. While Japan have recently flirted with the west, the Qings, does not. Believing themselves to be self-sufficient without the foreign powers touching their beliefs and thoughts, the Qing Empire is always at odds. At odds unimaginable. Possibly somehow "Surviving" a "Scramble" akin to the African Scramble, China, in the end, is a anomaly. Refusing reforms and changes, yet, still survives the test of time. Coming out from a generation mimicking the great Mongol dynasties, the Manchus have been playing the most dangerous cards of all time, with their isolation game became far more questionable after the wrath of the Heavenly Kingdom long ago. Regardless, it is a interresting study, on how China managed to pull all of those.

However, things might not be on China's side once more.

Starting from Japan's rise to prominence, China simply could not stand quiet no more. China could not be left behind. China could not be Asia's sick man. Their eastern neighbor have raised the stakes to questionable limits. And all came into full circle, when the Boxers have took matters into their own hands, on freeing China from the Western scourge.

Battles after battles, expeditions after expeditions, the supposedly foes of Europe are now united in order to took down the Eastern dragon.

Now we are left with no answers, as a grenade managed to decapitate the defiant Dowager.

CHAPTER ONE: THE GREAT KETTLE POT

15th August 1900

The siege of Beijing is no laughing matter. Signifying the point where the great orient have been virtually touched by the hands of the west, this very pivotal moment of history proved to be something that will change the face of the world in the future. Led by the British forces, the downfall of Beijing proved to be something else, something that brought China into a era similar to what happened during the three kingdoms era. An era where things are more questionable than it seems. As the western forces eventually closed in to the palace, the Empress Dowager believed that it is time, to abandon everything, and goes on a flight, as it was a better choice rather than be captured. Things, however, does not goes according to both the allied forces, and also for the Qings. Despite an order was given TO NOT hunt the Empress's cart, one soldier, not known of nation he was a part of-yet, speculated to be a American given by the grenade he used, is a Briton. Regardless, as the empress was fleeing away from the siege, the soldier, possibly seeing the cart as something else that is hostile, threw a grenade in a attempt to stop the convoy on its tracks, on which the blast instantly kills the Empress Dowager. The court of Cixi, and the Guanxu Emperor is decapitated in a instant. It was a oddity, on how a unknown infaantryman's foolishness ended up brought the world down to its knees.

There was a quiet period, where the Chinese forces does not find out about the fate of their beloved Empress Dowager. There was a quiet period, where the Allied forces does not realize what they had done.

But of course. Every deed will be uncovered. Every dark deeds will be uncovered. There was, a window of time from the point of the blast, on to the point where the Gantsu Warriors discovers the fate of their beloved empress.

All that is known, is that the second Battle of Beijing starts from that very point. China, is effectively, a broken state. Started from a fanatical devotion to their beloved empress, to the point where their fanaticism is broken to pieces, as ideologies began to sprang, time after time. And it is not only China, but the world. What the western world will do next, in China, will change the face of history, and themselves, by extension.

Unlike what is expected at first, China does not put any unified resistance against the alliance. Yet, within the months of September, it is clear that the alliance must fight against the onslaught of swarms, skirmishes, of the angry Chinese populace, with a peace treaty seemingly unavaliable, for the moment, given the conditions that is happening. Yet however, things eventually became far more worser, as the German contingent, against all orders given, offensively pursues the attacking Chinese civillian force, alongside with the Americans, with everybody having their own plans regarding the region. But of course, the actions taken by the German continent signals their rather ambitious goals, and also, the things to come in the future, making the German plans for China being the ridiculously "Insane" one, of the bunch, as their hidden plans were not something that everyone could agree upon. Regardless, the whole conflict eventually ends, as on 30th September 1900, Prince Duan, one of the living, high-ranking member of the Qing court, managed to lead a peace envoy, towards the alliance, ending the Boxer rebellion with more blood than expected. The peace envoy, signed by Prince Duan, and officials of the allied forces, with Adna Chafee notably being absent. It is still rather unclear, of what Prince Duan's offerings are, yet the only known thing, however, is that the very document he presented to the allied forces are nothing more than a pretext of a future treaty. Eventually, the occupying forces, starting from the early of December, began to leave China, one by one.

Each of the parties involved began to write their own plan. Draw their projected gains and losses. Creates their own projected, preferred wants and needs, before the treaty could be passed on. Many wanted for more, and some, does not. These are the suspected "Wants" of each nations of the Eight-Nation Alliance, given by records existing, compiled from the officials involved.
