Kate Hollis: "Frank Wants to Reshape Politics"
The wife of Democratic Vice-Presidential nominee Frank Hollis sparked controversy tonight as she seemed to suggest that Mr Hollis had plans to pursue an agenda that may diverge from the parties nominee, California Senator Sam Seaborn.
Mrs Hollis, who is the Chief Executive of Hollis Industries and Hollis Media, said that her husband had accepted the position because he felt that "Washington was in desperate need of change" and that he "wants to reshape politics".
The comments are the latest in a string of comments by the VP nominee and his inner circle that suggest they are not totally aligned to the Seaborn message and agenda and led to a number of questions to senior campaign figures today.
Campaign chairwoman CJ Cregg responded to questions from the press corps saying "Frank Hollis was picked because he's an independent thinker - we have no desire to temper his instincts like you suggest, we don't doubt his desire to reshape politics - we embrace it, support it and the idea that it's somehow divergent from the Senator's agenda is totally wide of the mark."
